Vendor Tipping Guide

Over the years, many of our couples have asked about tipping norms, so we deicded to create this guide. Below you’ll find average suggested tipping nationwide.

It is centered around two ideas:

  1. You have been working with some of these vendors for a year or more and it’s a way to let them know you appreciate their service beyond a contractual relationship.

  2. To match the rate they would earn at a non-wedding event (restaurant, salon, etc.).

So, if you would tip your salon stylist normally, you should consider doing so for your wedding.

Our team never expects a tip. It is always voluntary, but it is always much appreciated when received.

What to know about staying at Chanteclaire

  • They're easy! When you meet with staff at your prescheduled check in time, we will give you your key pad code for the weekend. That's it!

  • We are just like a vacation rental. We provide:

    • Towels (extras are located in the upper level closet)

    • Pillows and bedding (extra blankets can be found in some bedroon closets)

    • Basic cleaning supplies (broom, vacuum, ???)

    • Full kitchen equiped with a sink, dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven, fridge, and freezer (located behind the white door in the foyer)

    • Basic cooking utensils (pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, glassware, ???)

    • Washer and dryer (located behind the mirrored door inside the foyer bathroom)

You will need to bring your own toiletires, ???

  • Yes! While cell service can be spotty, we have strong Wi-Fi for guest usage. The Wi-Fi for the farmhouse and cabin is "Chanteclaire" and it is not password protected.

  • Absolutely! The farmhouse TV has Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. It does not have cable. Please do not attempt to purchase any videos or upgrade services. Doing so will incur charges to cover purchase costs and administrative fees.

  • While staying on property, guests have access to walk the entire grounds. All outbuildings, however, are off limits. These buildings are used for our storage of farm equipment, and are not suitable for guest entry. Guests who violate this could, depending on the circumstances, be asked to vacate the property.

  • Access to the barn is stricly by appointment only. Without an appointment, staff will not be on site and the barn will be locked. If staff are on site, they are giving tours or in meetings and are unable to meet with you. This is why appointment times are crucial.

  • We love your furry friends and absolutely invite you to bring them along! We ask that you do not leave your pets out while unattended. They can be left in the fenced and gated backyard (if they will not bark) or they may be crated when you are away from the farmhouse. Failing to comply with this may incure charges againt your security deposit to cover damages.

  • Due to its size, only our trianed staff can light, tend, or extinguish the bonfire. There are to be no fires lit by guests. Any additional fires, aside from your bonfire afterparty in your client contract, must be requested ahead of time and will be billed accordingly for staffing and supplies.

  • The pond is beautiful but it is also teeming with wildlife and therefore, strictly off limits. Most notably, snapping turtles, capable of removing appengages in one bite, live in the pond. Furthermore, the two feet or so of grass surrounding the pond is extremely soft. Under no circumstances should anyone, especially children, approach the pond. It is not safe.

  • Of course! We want you and your guests to be comfortable and relaxed. We ask that you do not run heat or AC with doors and windows open. Doing so will result in a utility premium being assessed against the security deposit.

  • Your comfort is important to us and we want you to make youselves at home. However, no furniture or decor should be moved. Should our staff have to move anything back to its original position, a labor fee will be charged against your security deposit. This applies to vendors (photographers, videographers, hair and makeup, etc.) as well as house guests.

  • Chanteclaire Farm vehicles are not for guest use except as agreed to in the client contract. Use of props for photos does not mean those props can be used any other time.

  • Item description
  • We are here to help! Any damage should be reported immediately to the Chantelcaire staff. Reporting issues in a timely manor can sometimes reduce the impact of them. Unreported damage is almost always charged to the security deposit.

To reduce the risk of causing damages:

    • Do not place hot or wet items on surfaces without proper coasters or trivets.

    • Ensure hot tools (curling iron, straightener, etc.) are unplugged while unattended.

    • Do not drape wet towels over furniture. Many furnishings are antiques and will be damaged by dampness.

  • We will be sad to see you go, but we will look forward to seeing you again! While you are packing up, please:

    • Strip beds and place all soiled linens (sheets, towels, ect.) on the laundry room floor.

    • Place all trash in the black bin just outside the front door.

    • Start a load in the dishwasher.

    • Close all windows and return thermostats to original temperatures.

    • Finally, please turn off lights and lock the front door using the key pad on your way out.
